Lesson Terms & Policies
-
Student enrollment is on a monthly subscription basis. Once a student is enrolled, they stay enrolled until withdrawn. There is a 2-week notice required to request either withdrawal or a change in your lesson day/time slot; any lessons falling within this 2 week period will be billed. Time slots cannot be held or reserved unless paid in full. Please note, this includes summer.
-
Payments for lessons are made monthly, in full, at the first scheduled lesson day of the month (even if there is a cancelation). This payment reserves the student’s weekly time slot. I prefer online payments such as Venmo, PayPal, or Cashapp, but can also accept personal checks or cash.
-
Student cancellations are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. If I cancel a lesson, you will receive either a makeup, refund, or tuition credit. Please make sure you understand and agree to these terms.
-
In general, lessons are canceled for major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc. but NOT for Monday holidays or school-specific closures like MLK Day, Veterans Day, spring break/fall break, etc. If you are ever unsure whether a lesson is canceled, please contact me.
-
There will be two student recital opportunities per year, one in the spring and one in the winter. I strongly recommend participating as part of a well-rounded musical education, which should include public performance. There is a $40 recital fee and (if the student play with piano), an accompanist fee, typically $50, added to the tuition payment for the month in which the recital occurs.
-
As students are scheduled back-to-back, I cannot make additional time available at the beginning or end of lessons. If you would like to chat about student progress, scheduling, or anything else, please contact me by text, call, or email. That way I can give a thorough response without cutting into another student’s lesson. If there’s something you’d prefer to discuss in person, we can do so at beginning of a lesson.

Referrals: any student or family who refers a new, enrolling student to me will receive a credit for one free lesson on their upcoming month’s tuition.
